What your notice must include

To be effective under 17 U.S.C. section 512(c)(3), your notice must contain all of the following:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it. A direct URL is best.
4. Your contact information: name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

An incomplete notice may delay our response. Please be aware that under 17 U.S.C. section 512(f), a person who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation that material is infringing may be liable for damages.

What we do when we receive one

We review valid notices promptly and remove or disable access to material that is the subject of a complete notice. Where we can identify the contributor, we notify them of the removal.

Counter notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter notice to the same address. It must include your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the removal was the result of mistake or misidentification, your contact information, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address, or if you are outside the United States, any district in which we may be found.

Product images, titles, and specification data displayed on this site are drawn from retailer listings and manufacturer sources and remain the property of their respective owners. If you are a rights holder and want particular material removed, write to us at the address above and we will act on it. You do not need to file a formal notice to start that conversation.

Repeat infringement

We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
